Airplane Landing

Starting July 11th, 2024, some residents may notice a change in the location of aircraft flight patterns departing from BWI Marshall Airport. On that date, the FAA published new Performance Based Navigation (PBN) departure procedures out of BWI Marshall Airport. The departure procedures are part of changes that have been under consideration since 2018. The revised departure procedures were developed by the FAA and reviewed by the Technical Committee of the DC Metroplex BWI Community Roundtable (Roundtable) in conjunction with industry representatives and MAA. The FAA intends to publish new arrival and approach procedures in September 2024.
