Annette Fisher is the Chief of Marketing and Air Service Development of the Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA), which owns and operates Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI) and Martin State Airports (MTN). In this role, she is responsible for providing creative guidance and management oversight for leading marketing and air service initiatives, strategic communications, customer experience, community and strategic partnerships.
Ms. Fisher joined the MAA in 2016 as Deputy Chief, where she produced award-winning marketing strategies, strategic communications, and project management for both BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports. Under her leadership, her marketing vision won two first time prominent Emmy Awards for the 2017 campaign, “We Love Lifting You Higher,” and in 2019, “We’ll Take You There,” for BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport.
Ms. Fisher has over 20 years of professional experience specializing in broadcasting news, media and public relations, marketing, customer experience, strategic communications and project management. She is highly regarded in the broadcast news industry as an award-winning television news producer and expanding roles in city and state governments, real estate and non-profits. In addition, her national non-profit stint with the American Heart Association led to award-winning national news coverage focusing on campaign initiatives such as the Go Red for Women and Power to End Stroke campaigns, strategic partnerships, and legislative wins in Annapolis. Ms. Fisher is most proud of her work that led to one legislative success, which includes Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator Instruction, known as Breanna’s Law, passed in 2014. This law requires public high school students, beginning with those entering grade 9, to complete, as part of the health or physical education curriculum, instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that includes hands-only CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
She is active in the community as a mentor for young professionals and lends her expertise to several industry organizations, serving as Vice Chair of Marketing and Communications for the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), Advisory member for Marketing and Communications Airport Council International (ACI). Also, she serves as Board Member for the Visit Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, Board member for Baltimore Center Stage and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Ms. Fisher earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Notre Dame in Maryland, several certifications and an Executive MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
