Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 150, “Airport Noise Compatibility Planning,” (Part 150) provides the methodology and procedures to be used in preparing aircraft noise exposure maps and developing noise compatibility programs. Conducting a voluntary Part 150 study qualifies airport operators for the FAA grant funding such as for homeowner assistance programs like a sound insulation program. The MAA’s past participation in this program has been used to determine the boundary of eligibility for the RSIP and the voluntary acquisition program. The MAA most recently completed and submitted a Part 150 study in 2016.
